Biography:

Tim McDaniel received his B.A. from UC Santa Cruz and his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley. He has lived in and conducted research on Latin America and the Soviet Union. His major area of interest is culture and social change, especially with respect to religion. His new book is called The Agony of the Russian Idea, an interpretation of the long-term dilemmas of Russian society. He is currently working on a book on religion and social change.
