To apply for an NSF, contact Contracts & Grants Officer - Susanna Pastell, spastell@ucsd.edu. She will give you your FastLane (the online application) temporary password and pseudo Social Security Number. You can use this information to login to FastLane and complete your application.
For the NSF application you are the Co-PI and your faculty advisor is the PI.
You (Co-PI) and your advisor (PI) will need to meet with the Department of Sociology's financial manager, Tanya to sign additional forms. Be sure to budget a year of funds beginning approximately 6 months after the submission date.
You will need to give the application to the Contracts & Grants Officer at least one business week before the deadline. Once you have completed the application, select the button that allows the Contracts & Grants Officer to view and submit your application.
American Association of University Women (AAUW)-AAUW offers several pre- and post-doctoral grants
The AERA Grants Program offers dissertation grants for quantitative education policy and practice research using large-scale, nationally- representative data sets such as those sponsored by NCES and NSF. Studies must include US education but may be comparative.
Bancroft Library Study Awards for students working on Master's thesis and Doctoral Dissertation that will use the library's materials.
The research awards competition is open to individuals with a serious interest in studying Congress. Political scientists, historians, biographers, scholars of public administration or American studies, and journalists are among those eligible.
Dorot Foundation Graduate research travel grant supports research in Israel
Three- to nine-month funding to teach graduate courses and/or conduct research in any discipline relevant to U.S.-Mexico border relations. Fluent Spanish is required. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and be from U.S. institutions located in any of the U.S. states on the border with Mexico. Affiliation must be with a university or research institution in any of the Mexican states on the border with the United States.
Horowitz supports sociological research with an emphasis on policy-oriented studies.
